Addition of new network line to current setup
Hi
my office network setup is currently as such: a 2Mbps ADSL line connected to a Cisco 877 router, running NAT, providing internet access to a bunch of servers(Windows Server 2003)as well as staff computers (Windows XP, Vista). We have Active Directory on the network, providing DNS and DHCP on the domain controllers. The servers are connected to the network via a HP Procurve 2848 gigabit switch, and company staff are connected via wireless network. All servers have 2 Nics, of which 1 is in use internally. What's happening now is that we are pulling in an additional 3Mbps fibre line for the servers, and I want to hook up this new line to the servers, without affecting the current setup as much as possible. This line is hooked up to a Cisco 1841 router, and we were recommended to use a separate device to provide NAT (public addressing) for the servers. My objective is to be get all the servers onto this new line, while keeping company staff still on the current (wireless) line, with as little changes to the internal network setup as possible. The issue here is that the domain controllers will need to be on both networks. I am toying with the idea of using ISA 2006, but I do not have much experience with this software and do not wish to screw things up until I am sure of what needs to be done. I also have a Linksys SR224 switch at my disposal. Does any one have any insight on how I should go about setting this up? Thanks in advance! |
