Hello, I just set up a network and began to experience the same thing with older documents in my folders. I executed the fix described, rebooted, and am still having the same problem. Any idea why that would be? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Spenc Last edited by Done_Fishin; 11-20-2008 at 11:07 AM. Reason: adding relevant text from old thread after moving to new thread |

Re: Access denied. Contact your administrator
What versions of Windows, XP-Home, XP-Pro, Vista-Home, Vista-Business, etc.? Is this a one-way issue, or does it happen on all computers?

Re: Access denied. Contact your administrator
I only have one computer sharing the Main Computer's Document Folder so it's the only one having a problem.
Both computers are running XP - but the Main Computer is XP-Home and the new computer is using XP-Pro. The main (server) computer has an older version, Office 2000, and the new computer (accessing the shared folder) is running Office 2007. What's strange is everything was working fine until recently. My guess is that something changed with one of Microsoft's automatic updates. Last edited by spencerdog; 11-21-2008 at 04:24 PM. |

Re: Access denied. Contact your administrator
On the machine with the shared files, run this.
Create a file in notepad named FIXANON.REG with the following contents: You should have 3 boxes on the bottom in NOTEPAD. 1)Filename : FIXANON.REG 2)Save as type: all files 3)Encoding: ANSI If you do not change it from txt type to All files type, then the file will actually be FIXANON.REG.txt, this won't accomplish the desired result. ------------------- Use text after this line ------------------- Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa] "restrictanonymous"=dword:00000000 ------------------- Use text before this line ----------------- Double click on the file and say Yes to the merge into registry question. Reboot the computer.
