Router difficulty

Hi everyone,

I haven't been able to get my router working properly since the day I got it and I'm hoping for some insight if possible. Basically I've setup a static IP that falls outside the range of my DHCP. I know the servers work b/c I can play on them when directly connected to my modem, or when I DMZ myself. Obviously I don't want to have to DMZ myself, so assuming I have the correct ports and I've double and triple checked to make sure I do, are there any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Re: Router difficulty

when you say outside the range of your DHCP, you dont mean on a different subnet or anything, or outside your DHCP IP range (.270 etc.). If your setting your IP manually you can set it inside your DHCP range, your request will overwrite what the DHCP wants to give you. Try turning your routers DHCP off and just using it as a hub. Although you'll have to set the IP of all your devices. Doubt i can help much, i have my fair share of problems with routers at times. And when you say you havent been able to get your router working properly from day one, what do you mean, it wont even access the internet or you just cant play games without getting disconnected?

Re: Router difficulty

Well, if you gave enough specifics to know what you're doing and the equipment in use, that would be a start.
