I have a cable internet connection in bldg 1 where we have a wireless internet connection (on a linksys wrt54g)set up for our customers for free public access I have a cat5 cable running to a switch so I can provide it to my employees hardwired. I have another computer in bldg2 which is about 400 feet away with clear access no trees nothing. I cannot run cable underground or on telephone poles I want to use the wireless internet connection for bldg1 to bldg2 for Internet access.
I currently have a security camera wireless set up coming from another linksys WRT54g router with a 9dbi omnidirectional antenna out side on bldg1 projecting the signal to bldg2 where it captures it on a reciever antenna all this is with a secured wireless signal going to a buffalo wireless ethernet conveter router then a cat 5 cable to a desktop. Questions : ? Can I run a cat5 cable from my switch to the security camera router and feed off that signal to bldg 2 for the internet....If so is there any configurations for this or just run the cable and plug it in to the router and then run one from the buffalo router in bldg2? Thanks So much! Ehunt32 |

Re: Wireless Internet 400ft Away
If you have an IP connected security camera, you should be able to just run the wire. A diagram of all of this would be useful for us to better understand exactly what is connected where.
