[SOLVED] Wireless Access Point - Switch
Hello!
I currently have a D-Link DWL-7100AP, this acts as a repeater and repeats my D-Link router. I'm wondering if I can add an ethernet switch via ethernet cable from the Access Point? There are also a number of different options on the DWL-7100AP, such as AP Client etc. Would I need to change the option? Any help would be great, thanks. |

Re: Wireless Access Point - Switch
I currently have a D-Link DSL-G624M Router in my house, and in shed/workshop I have a DWL-7100AP. I can pick it up fine, I'm just wondering if I can attach a switch onto it so I can connect computers via ethernet cable, since they do not have network cards.

Re: Wireless Access Point - Switch
Does that DWL-7100AP has a wireless bridge mode? If so, you should be able to connect a switch to it and split it out for multiple computers.

Re: Wireless Access Point - Switch
Good grief! You are trying to repeat the signal multiple times? That's almost sure to create issues!

Re: Wireless Access Point - Switch
I've never tried such a stunt, and I have no intention of ever attempting it.
I have no idea if you'll get it working...

But I tried again, but changed the access points to DHCP instead of static IP and it works a charm! |
