Re: internet connection

Remove the Default Gateway and DNS Server addresses in the TCP/IP configuration. This will allow it to use the local network for file/print sharing, but not access the Internet.

Re: internet connection

Thank you johnwil, but that's the reguler way, and the user still can fill up the DNS setting. I want other way that only me can restrict the setting. Is it possible?
There are 10 PC in our network, every PC and also network devices have static IP.
I try to learn how to manage our local network and make restriction for some of PCs.
I hope i can learn in the forum.
Thank you very much for your concern.
Regards
Mona

Re: internet connection

Are the computers connecting to the internet via a router? If so you can configure your router to block internet access to that IP address.

Re: internet connection

If you have a central server or router, you may be able to restrict the access by MAC address or IP address at that choke point. If we knew more about the network topology, we could probably give you a better answer.

Re: internet connection

Thank you Krazyko & johnwill,
Yes, i have an ADSL2 Router D-Link. And every PC & network devices connect to Switch. Also has their own static IP.
Maybe, i'll try to restrict the access through the router configuration, like you said.
I'll see if i can find out.
If i have more questions, i can ask again, please
Thank you very much.
Regards
Mona

Re: internet connection

I believe the D-Link does have MAC restrictions, so you may be able to do the restrictions there, and that will be independent of the IP address.

Re: internet connection

Dear johnwill,
Hi..i just looked around in my adsl router. i couldn't find mac restrictions.
I found parent control, Lan client, bridge filters.
Can you possibly know what way should i go for internet restriction for a certain computer in my network?
I used adsl router DSL520T.
Thank you very much for your concern.
I really appreciate having myself login to this forum.
Thank you.

Mona

Re: internet connection

Do you have a link to the user's manual for your router?
