How to remove Public files from a server?

My uncle needs "public files" removed from his server. Is there any special way to remove those files or is it as simple as right click delete?

Anything? Someone out there has to know something about this. Networking/servers are my weak areas of knowledge.

Public files? What server version is he running? By default there is no public files on a server (at least not a Windows based one).
