Re: Internet Works But Not The Network

I have the same problem as the person above where I can get on internet but my network does not work and it just says that it is unreachable or not available.

I tried:
netsh int ip reset reset.log
and
netsh winsock reset catalog

but netsh int ip reset reset.log only fixes the internet which sometimes randomly goes off now and the network is permanently off.

What I find is really odd is that this problem appeared out of nowhere without installing or changing anything and even persists with a new install of windows XP

anyone have any ideas because it is making my computer useless... ;(

Re: Internet Works But Not The Network

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Internet Works But Not The Network

If you're reinstalled, let's see this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
  1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
  2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
  3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

I'd also like to see this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
