VPN over Vodafone 3G USB Modem on OSX Leopard
Hi all,
I have posted the same thread here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread....61542&tstart=0 and here: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9530 but noone seems to be able to provide me with any help! :( Basically I have got a Vodafone USB 3G (a HUAWEI E172) dongle which I am trying to get running on a Macbook with OS X Leopard over a VPN (latest version with all updates). I can get onto the internet through the 3G dongle fine and I can also get onto the VPN using wireless networks fine however the problem arises when I try and access VPN whilst connected to the internet with the Vodafone dongle. Interestingly I have managed to get the above scenario to work on a Macbook Pro running OS X Tiger, which leads me to believe it must just be some setting I should be able to change to get it to work. I have come across a few other people descirbing the same problem and think it maybe something to do with the Subnet or the way the IP is assigned to the computer but I do not have enough experience in this area to sort the problem out. Something about the IP being assigned by the USB modem and then the IP within the VPN conflicting? Hope this makes sense, Would most appreciate any help anyone could provide, Thanks Ash |
