OS: xp & vista


networkingbetween xp and vista

this is muna from mumbai
i got a 2 comp having xp and vista .i put computers in same workgroup
and ip also is 192.168.1.5,192.168.1.23
i can access shareing files in xp but icannot accecc files in vista from
xp comp . vista computer name is hp-pc and xp copmuter name is abc.
when i enter ip in run in hp-pc it show connect to abc and for username and password. when i enter username is administrator and
password ishows hp-pc administrator
iam in serious problem
please suggest me as quick as possibls

Hey muna, one thing you might check is whether or not network discovery and file sharing is activated in Vista.

Open the Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center and then under the "Sharing and Discovery" section make sure that "Network Discovery" and "File Sharing" are turned on.
