EEK! WBR-2310 D LInk Router

I am having a problem with my WBR-2310 router. It is for wireless and also wired.
I have had this router for awhile and is only lately that I am having a problem.
I have my main PC(Acer) connected through my router and I have no problems.
Where the problem starts is when I try and connect my clone to it or any other PC as far as that goes. I never had that problem before but since I formatted I can NOT get the clone to connect. Keep telling me that my connection has limited or no connectivity and yet I have tried different cords(new ones). I even tried different Ethernet cards thinking maybe the card was blown but they are not. Same as the cables,, when I bought new ones I tried them on my main connection so isn't the cords either.

So my main PC is connected, obviously,, now I just need to figure out why I can't connect a second PC to my network.

So does anyone have/had this problem and if so,, how did you resolve it?
I am about to pull my hair out.

Thanks in advance.

maybe its fine for wireless computers but the actual landline connections with an ethernet cord is too slow. I had a d-link (wired only) and it was too slow even though it said on the box it could support 4 computers at once

Re: WBR-2310 D LInk Router

First off, this doesn't appear to be a router issue, and there is no artificial limitation to the number of computers the router will support.

Let's see this for the main PC that is connected, and one of the problem machines that won't connect. Obviously, the cable should be connected to the router for both of these machines.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Idea Re: WBR-2310 D LInk Router

Hi again.

Ok here is a screen shot:

Oh and I did have the other PC hooked up before and worked no problem. It is since I formatted that I can't get it to work.

Re: WBR-2310 D LInk Router

Since you didn't post any screen shot, it'll be real hard to say.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

Re: WBR-2310 D LInk Router

I see it now, don't know why I couldn't see it before. In the future, I suggest posting directly to the forum.

On to your issue.

This computer is not seeing a DHCP server at all.

Let's try a couple of things.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2/SP3.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.

I'd also like to see this for the main computer that does connect properly.
