Sudden really really slow web browsing
Hey guys, new poster here. Been trying to solve this problem myself for about a week now and after receiving no help from my ISP i have decided to seek answers elsewhere.
The problem goes like this; About a week ago my web browsing suddenly slowed down to almost 56k speed. Web pages take forever to load, the max download speed I am getting is about 8kb/s. The thing is though with online games such as World of Warcraft my ping hasn't changed whatsoever. It seems to only effect web surfing, in both IE and Mozilla Firefox. As an interesting side note, when i try to load a web page while alt-tabbed from WoW, i get disconnected every time. I have ran a virus scan, done all sorts of spyware scans, defragged my hard drive, reset the router etc. No change. I am using DSL internet and my computer specs are as follows AMD X2 3800+ (Overclocked to 2.2 Ghz) 2GB dual channel RAM Nvidia 8800GT graphics card 200GB seagate SATA HDD Gigabyte mobo (not sure of model) 500 Watt no name PSU Any help at all would be great, this is starting to drive me insane! |

Re: Sudden really really slow web browsing
Check your isp's eula agreement for it changes constantly. We have noticed windstream now will cut your speed down if you go past a certain amount of uploads and downloads. Sucks but they can do it.
