Cant access cisco 1242ag access point

Hi all I have a cisco 1242ag wireless access point. I plug it into my network but it is not getting an ip from DHCP server. Do I need a crossover cable? Also do I need a rolled cable to use the console port? Thanks in advance...

Have you checked the manual?

Re: Cant access cisco 1242ag access point

Yes I have, it tells how to configure it which is not a problem, however I cant even get to the CLI or the web interface to do so. I am making a roll over cable now to use the console port. Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the help.

Ok the rolled cable is done, now I am trying to console in using tera term. The only options are com1-com9 and tcp/ip. I am guessing I would use the com port, but im not sure. Anybody have a clue how to access this thing???
