Wi-fi LAN switching problem
Seven computers connected in a LAN through a switch, we cannot get a wired connection to the net so each PC has a wireless card.
When the Lan is enabled the wireless doesn't work and when the wireless card is active the LAN is sluggish and disconnects a lot. So the simple/cheapest solution is to use one at a time, right? So I want to know is there registery values that enable and disable network connections? I want to be able to put shortcuts on the desktop one will disable the wifi and enable the lan the other will disable the lan and enable the wifi. There are a good few people who use these computers and would get too confused if I told them they had to open network connections to do this. |

Re: Wi-fi LAN switching problem
If the LAN is for local file/print sharing, just manually configure the Default Gateway and DNS Server addresses to be null, file sharing will still work over the wired connection and Internet access will be done wirelessly.

Re: Wi-fi LAN switching problem
It shouldn't, that's not required for local LAN gaming.
