Belkin54g router, 'cable disconnected' message
Hiya everyone,
Sorry if this is more basic than you're used to but I'm completely lost and don't know where to go for help. I'm trying to connect a second pc to the Internet through a wireless router. I've done everything I'm supposed to setting up the second pc, but at the last stage it tells me that i have a disconnected cable when I haven't. Is this something to do with the fact that my usb belkin wireless card on the guest pc is really hot within minutes or am I just missing something very obvious. Yes it's all plugged in, the lights are on, it recognises its existence and the host pc is fine and on the net, but then this aggravating message appears on the second pc telling me i'm disconnected somewhere. Please, please, please can anyone offer me any hope ? Cheers Gill |

Re: Belkin54g router, 'cable disconnected' message
the 2nd computer accesses the internet through the wireless adapter, correct?
If so, and the 2nd computer works fine, you can disable the wired NIC on the 2nd PC and the message won't appear.
