HUGE Latency Issue
Hello all,
I have a client who is experencing 1-2 second phone delay both ways....basically whenever the client send or receives a call...there is a 2 second delay (max) before both parties can begin talking. We thought that it was a VLAN issue but we ruled that out....I'm at my wits end. There is something that we find strange when looking at the show int on the router...e0/1 has more errors than s0/0 particularly the collision and interface resets which look larger than normal and continue to increment. See below: Ethernet0/1 is up, line protocol is up Hardware is AmdP2, address is 0005.3299.88e1 (bia 0005.3299.88e1) Description: VOICE & 2122213134 Internet address is 10.110.60.129/25 MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec, reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255 Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set Keepalive set (10 sec) ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00 Last input 00:00:17, output 00:00:07, output hang never Last clearing of "show interface" counters 03:54:10 Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0 Queueing strategy: fifo Output queue: 0/40 (size/max) 5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec 5 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec 286908 packets input, 20984778 bytes, 0 no buffer Received 1659 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles 0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored 0 input packets with dribble condition detected 278211 packets output, 20659496 bytes, 0 underruns 619 output errors, 1965 collisions, 619 interface resets 0 babbles, 619 late collision, 2565 deferred 0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier 0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out Serial0/0 is up, line protocol is up Hardware is PQUICC with Fractional T1 CSU/DSU Description: 32HCGL417213 Internet address is 10.110.2.54/30 MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1544 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec, reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255 Encapsulation HDLC, loopback not set Keepalive set (10 sec) Carrier delay is 0 msec Last input 00:00:00, output 00:00:00, output hang never Last clearing of "show interface" counters 03:54:10 Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0 Queueing strategy: weighted fair Output queue: 0/1000/64/0 (size/max total/threshold/drops) Conversations 0/34/256 (active/max active/max total) Reserved Conversations 0/0 (allocated/max allocated) Available Bandwidth 1158 kilobits/sec 5 minute input rate 1000 bits/sec, 3 packets/sec 5 minute output rate 1000 bits/sec, 3 packets/sec 4722 packets input, 251242 bytes, 0 no buffer Received 388 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles 0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 0 abort 7004 packets output, 345108 bytes, 0 underruns 0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets 0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out 0 carrier transitions DCD=up DSR=up DTR=up RTS=up CTS=up Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, I'll try or retry anything. Re: HUGE Latency Issue
Without complete details of all of the network topology, this would be very difficult to impossible to figure out remotely.
