ok...
i NEED the internet tonight and its late - im not going out to buy anything so i need to find a solution without having to buy anything. Im at a mate's house with my pc and he has wireless... he has a laptop with a wireless adapter and can connect with no problem every time - I, however, do not have a wireless network card or adapter or anything of the like but I do have an ethernet cable... To sum up my question is this... Am I able to get a laptop which is connected to the internet and plug an ethernet cable from it to my PC and leech the internet off of that machine onto my pc with no wireless network card? (ive tried and can only get "Local Area Connection only") thnx in advance and sorry if i made the explanation a bit long-winded. ![]()

Re: sharing wireless over lan...
You need to remember that not all of us live in your part of the world.
![]() To connect to the other machine with a cable, you need a crossover CAT5 cable, and you'll need to bridge the wireless and wired connections on the host computer.
