I have the exact same problem (also the exact same computer), yep and the wireless assistant folder dosent open. In device manager theres no wireless devices or any yellow or red warnings.

Have you tried checking the BIOS configuration to see if the wireless capability is disabled? Have you turned on the wireless with the switch (or function key sequence) to enable it?
