Xbox Network problem!

Hey everybody.

I got a mayor problem with my xbox live.
Here's the thing, I got a Balkin router but i still can't have internet on both my xbox and my PC at the same time.
Even though I got one cable for them each.
The xbox live works only when I pull the internet cable for the pc out of the router or if the computer is turned off.
Though, it works to connect more computers to the network and they're internet works just perfectly.

I've tried with everything, i've plugged everything in the network off, let it be so for like an hour, and then plugg it in again.
I've tried with just let the xbox360 to be on for like a day with the internet cable plugged in but that doesn't work either.
I've tried with writing in the IP automatticly and manually.
But everytime i try to test the connection when the internet is on the PC too, i get the message IP adress failed.

I've mailed the Xbox support for help but i was like number 100 000 in the line so I surely won't get an answer back until year 2010...
I really want it to work before NHL 09 comes out next week.

I'd be very thankfull if someone could help me ( Excuse my english, hope you understood most part of it )
//Robin.

Re: Xbox Network problem!

Does the XBOX fail if ANY other computer is connected to the router, or just yours?

Care to share the exact model of that Belkin router with us?

On the problem PC, please post this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Xbox Network problem!

Which version of that router do you have? I see versions 1,2, 4, 6, 7, and 8 on the Belkin site. It would be nice to know which one we're dealing with.

Re: Xbox Network problem!

Okej I can't see those versions though.
But I checked the box that the router came in and all I could find about any version was a little sticker on the back that said "ver. 1012yy"
So maybe It's version number 1 then?

Re: Xbox Network problem!

That's indeed version 1.

The latest firmware for that version is 4.05.03, is that what you're running?

If not, I'd upgrade from this page: http://www.belkin.com/uk/support/art...id=6094&scid=0

When you do the upgrade, you also should reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Re: Xbox Network problem!

Yeah I downloaded that version from the link you posted, but when I'm trying to install It I get the message "Incorrect user interface image".

So I updated through the auto update to version 9.01.07 instead.

So should I reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure now?

Re: Xbox Network problem!

They don't even list that version on their pages, so I have no idea what it is. I'd contact Belkin tech support and ask them what it the proper firmware for your router.
