[SOLVED] Messed with router settings...big mistake.

I have a home network of three desktops. I messed with my router settings at 192.168.1.1 Now two of the computers don't get internet, and the one does when the modem is directly connected to it. I tried resetting the router, and it still doesn't work. And when i type 192.168.1.1 the webpage doesn't show up. My router is a old Linksys NR041. Here's my info. Thanks for the help.

It sounds like you've changed the IP address of the router somehow. Do a "ipconfig" from the machine that still connects to the net and see what the IP address of the Default Gateway is (that will be your current router address).

Alternately, you will most likely have a reset button somewhere on the router (usually a very small hole in the case that you can access with a paper clip). Press that button and it should reset back to factory settings. After doing this you will need to re-enter you username/password to get it to connect to the net again.

kev1952. I don't think I have a IP adress for my default gateway. And I tried reseting the router already, and it's still no good.

If I read you right then the IP address of the router is "151.196.179.195". Type in that address into the URL bar of your browser and see if it get's you connected to the modem/router. How many network adaptors have you got installed?

you can always try restoring the router to factory defaults.
couple ways to do this
keep the router plugged in and press down the tiny reset for about 30 seconds
or in router just find the button thats says restore to factory defaults.

keep in mind you're just going to have to re add all your computers to the router, reset the encryption for wireless but it shouldn't be too bad

but like "kev1952" said if you can just change a couple settings back in your router thats even better!

You have the modem connected to one of the router's LAN ports, it should be connected to the router's WAN port.

haha sorry guys. I actually called verizon and they helped me reset all the router settings. My network is now up and running again. Thanks anyways for all the responses.
