General Wireless Help
I'm having trouble trying to get my computer connected to my home's wireless network. Right now I'm running my SBC DSL through a Linksys router (WRT300N), and about 6 other computers in my home are connecting to it just fine.
My personal desktop has a wireless card built in to its motherboard. For a while it was working decently; it was a little slow and at times it would disconnect, but it still got the job done. Recently I started messing around with my settings for BitTorrent. I set up a static IP and forwarded some ports in my firewall and router. At first this had no effect on my connection. About a day or so later, I noticed that I was disconnecting more frequently, and now I can't connect to the network at all. I've tried a number of things to try and fix this. I turned off the static IP, reinstalled the wireless card drivers, and reset the router/modem, but nothing is working. It seems to me that there are more people asking questions here than giving answers. I realize this problem seems pretty vague, and I'm not opposed to helping myself. I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Is there a good guide or website out there that has a general guide to setting up networks? |

Re: General Wireless Help
Read this for starters. Whilst Torrents and the pidgoen-holed illegal activities that come along with it are a sore and frowned on subject here, its no good having regular disconnects.
When you say reset, do you mean turn off and on or a full hard reset with the tiny reset button?
