Network card missing in device manager
Hello,
i have an Intel D865GSA motherboard which the build in network is not functioning, (Running on WinXP Pro SP2 ver.2002) and it's not presented in the device manager. So i went bought a new network card and put it in. The same thing happen.. no Local Area Connection and the Network Adapter is not appearing in the device manager. When i plug the cable in, there's light for the external and the build-in card but it's just not working/detecting at all. I tried the external network card that i bought in my another pc.. it works fine. I enabled onboard LAN in BIOS and checked the settings and i believe they're in order. So i try formatting it, flashing the BIOS and re-installed all drivers including the LAN. Still i can't see any differences. I even tried the external cards in 3 different PCI slots.. but still no clue what is wrong. Can it be the board defect? Appreciate if anyone can help..

Re: Network card missing in device manager
Well, I think you've pretty much eliminated anything other than some sort of compatibility issue with PCI slots in your MB from the description. What does the MB maker have to say?

Re: Network card missing in device manager
Thanks for your feedback. Well i was hoping for some miracle because
i felt that the built-in card is still functioning as the external can be used on other pc. I found some threads here with the same issue and some of them manage to rectify it. Oh well.. replacement... not again!
