Mistake Help With Brdiging Connections

Ok, so bottom line up front I'm new to a lot of networking stuff. Basically, I go to West Point and they are real strict on what we can have connected to the internet. However, I found that by using a bridge connection between our normal LAN (used for the internet) and a Dynex Cardbus Network Card (32-bit 10/1000Mbps) last year we could get online with a Playstation 3 through the network. However this year I had to replace my hard drive, and at first had issues with my dynex card ( Windows would automatically download drivers for a Realtek card instead of the Dynex). I fixed that problem, but now it won't let me create a bridge connection (option is grayed out).

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Re: Help With Brdiging Connections

Since they have restrictions on what you connect, I suggest you observe them, or you'll probably be looking for a new school! When I was in the Navy, they took a real dim view of ignoring regulations.

Re: Help With Brdiging Connections

haha Well that's true, but this way is apparently the approved solution. However, I managed to get the right drivers installed and everything now, but when I bridged the connections the PS3 will still not connect because it keeps timing out. The status under my network connections says its sending packets but not receiving any.

Re: Help With Brdiging Connections

Maybe their network only allows a single DHCP IP address to be handed out to a specific room.
