Hey there people, I was debating where to place this but thought it would be best in here but enough of boring you and down to business. I'm looking to connect my Playstation 3 to my internet but I don't wish to do this with the wireless but yet keep my wireless.
Thats where I got confused, i'm not sure how I should connect it up. I currently have the ISP connection into the Modem, then into the Wireless Router. The router then connects to the an computer and laptop wirelessly, but my router is *coof* s**t. So I thought I'd try to connect the Playstation to the Modem directly but how can I do this without losing my Router and not plugging it into the ports in the router. I was thinking of connecting the Modem to an Switch and then the Switch to the Router and Playstation but would this work?? Not sure if you could tell but I am an Noob at Networking and will follow any ideas which you have. Thanks, Dan Courtnage |

Re: Request Advice
I do have ports on the router but the router is as i said before s**t and keeps on turning on and off - also only provides with a slow connection.
I got a Belkin Router and standard NTL modem |

Re: Request Advice
First off, lose the profanity, perhaps a re-reading of the Tech Support Forum Rules & Conduct is in order.
Why don't you just connect the PS3 to one of the router LAN ports? It would help if you specified the EXACT make/model of the modem and router.
