What kind of printer is a "generally"?

Seriously, you have to be a LOT more specific, we tend to address specific issues. Writing tutorials about a process is out of the realm of possibility for every request that comes in here for help.

ok i am running windows vista i have a wireless/wired network in my house i also have a hp business inkjet 2250tn it has an ethernet plug on the back of it is there anyway i can hook that into an open spot on my router and make the other computers print from it? thanks in advance for any help

Yes, plug the printer to the router and use the printer cd on the machines you want to install the printer on. If it is a network printer it should have its own IP address on the network. The cd might have a facility where it is searching for the printer on the network.

Another way is to attach the printer locally a computer and when the printer is installed on the computer you could right click on the printer and select sharing.
