IP address

Hi to all

i got a friend tat claims he can traced IP address through his blog, i was wondering. Is it really possible?? I did try and challenged him, the IP address he gave me is wrong. But is it possible to traced IP address just by visting blog.

Yes. But that's as far as it goes. It's just a way of tracking visitors. Alot of websites can do this.

Anytime you go to a site, they can track your IP address. It's a necessary part of connecting to the Internet.

As long as you go to reputable sites, there is no problem.

You can't trace an IP address by just visiting a site, only the site administration has access to that information. We only bother with it if there's a problem user, normally I could care less what the IP address of all the visitors is.

None really. My IP address is 72.94.36.240, I have no issues in revealing it. If you get past the two firewalls that are in place, I deserve whatever I get.

Seriously, hackers don't target specific IP addresses, they scan thousands looking for vulnerable machines. Knowing a specific IP address is rarely of any use.
