Mapping/Network problem with freeze ups
First off, not sure if this has been adressed and/or solved before, but the search function is not working currently, so I couldn't find anything about it.
Here is my problem. We have a small network running (4 computers (windows XP pro) + 1 server (windows 2003)) It has been running smoothly up until a couple of days ago, when suddenly, one of the computers started freezing up for 30 seconds -> 2 minutes when trying to access files or maps on the local computer or the network. I have figured out that it is a mapping problem of some sort, since if I deactivate the LAN connection, the computer runs smoothly again. I have tried with the normal map drive from the explorer, both with and without the reconnect option. It does ask for my login/password, but when I enter it, it gives me a message that it cant connect because multiple connections with the same username is not allowed. The problem that needs sorting first and foremost is the problem with the computer freezing up when i try to access it when the LAN connection is running. Is there anyone who knows how to solve this problem, or can link me to a place where a sollution is described, I would be most grateful. |
