How can i check the mac-address of the hosts connected on an interface of 1721 router "Cisco IOS Software, C1700 Software (C1700-SY7-M), Version 12.4(7c)"

if i'm reading your post correctly...open cmd...type ipconfig/all
this will show you all you need to know about your connection...if this is not what your looking for please be more specific

No, log into the router, type enable, type show run. I can't remember if it shows the mac addresses as well.

Hi. The command you are looking for is "show arp" at the router prompt. this will list all MAC addresses and the matching IP address listed in the routers ARP table and the interfaces it has seen those MAC addresses.
