Connecting to Network Drive/Server
Hi.
I'm helping a friend out with his business and he's not too PC knowledgeable, anyway there was a break in at his site so he's using his home laptop (work one was stolen). All 5 PC's at the office are on a network and one server. The laptop connects to the server (which contains all their data) fine but after a few minutes it suddenly loses 95% of all it's files and the laptop can only access a few useless folders. None of the other PC's connected experience the problem. It also seems if the laptop reboots it connects and repeats the issue of working fine at first then dissapearing after a few minutes. I tried connecting through mapping the network in my computer and it simply says that it cant find the path. I'm pretty new to networking but I am really good with PC's. So sorry if im a bit flimsy flamsy with proper terms or knowing how to do stuff. Any ideas what could be causing this issue? Windows XP on all the PC's/Laptop and the Server I am unsure of. I will report if needed tomorrow. Any help greatly appreciated. I would appreciate even more someone who knows about networking and is on UK time contacting me through MSN. FabienOram@hotmail.com Regards and thanks. Fabien.
