vnc problem
hi
guys i need your help. i downloaded the free version of Real VNC from vnc website. and installed VNC server on my home PC. it shows 192.168.x.x address when i move my mouse on it in the toolbar corner. However when i try to connect it in my office using vnc viewer, it shows "failed to connect to server!" msg. How can i access my home PC in my office??? can anybody help.??? |

You should enable "port forwarding" in your router's configuration. Port forwarding allows passing external connections to computers in the internal network.
For example, to access VNC server running on default ports, a router can be configured such way that TCP connections to ports 5900 and 5800 would be passed to the same ports of a particular machine with a specified private IP address (typically 192.168.x.x). |

i take this back. I insatlled vnc viewer in my other laptop (#2) in another room.it worked by entering the port i passed thru my router. and i can access my laptop #1 desktop from laptop #2 but im still getting "failed to connect " message from my office. why??/ am i missing something.???
