WIFI Suitability
Just a simple question of discussion
WIFI devices emits signals that travel flawlessly without any obstruction. However with obstruction, signals get blocked or reduced. So the question is, is WIFI devices really meant for buildings with many walls such as a hotel or it is meant for an open space like cafe or an airport Thanks

Re: WIFI Suitability
both, as long as you have the proper setup, then wifi is for anywhere. The problem with some places, is the people that setup wifi is inexperence and use the wrong equipment. For example, I stayed at a hotel a while back and their wifi used the very same setup as you would have at home. No repeaters, no extenders, no nothing, just a wireless router with limited range. It worked okay but the outer rooms did not get much of a signal.

I always thought WIFI would be inappropriate in hotel as the walls and doors everything will reduce the signal strength

Re: WIFI Suitability
Without the proper design, it does perform pretty poorly in large buildings, and it will depend a lot on the construction of the building and the utilities. Obviously, it takes more signal in a large building to reach the same distance as if you're in a farmer's field.
