Question Which Server?

If a network had 60 client machines needing attatched to it, which server (Windows and Linux) is best to use?

Would a Windows Small Business Server (2003) or Fedora Linux be ok?

Thanks in advance

Re: Which Server?

I would have to say Windows Business Server. That's because you can setup Active Directory for central login. This means that users can have 1 login and password that they can use to login to any of the 60 machines.

I don't think linux has anything like that but I could be wrong.

Re: Which Server?

I think Linux has Open LDAP but I'm not too familiar with it. Does Active Directory exist on a Windows Small Business Server?

Yes, SBS 2003 has Active Directory support.

The Standard Edition of SBS includes Windows SharePoint Services for collaboration, Microsoft Exchange server for e-mail, Fax Server, and the Active Directory for user management. The product also provides a basic firewall, DHCP server and NAT router using either two network cards or one network card in addition to a hardware router.
