[SOLVED] Wireless network seems to work but doesn't connect to the internet
ok so.. I really have no Idea how to work a network since i've never done it before..
my computers are old so they didn't have the wireless network cards already in them.. so I bought two USB wireless network adapters.. on the microsoft website it says that xp does not have to have a wireless network router that one computer can work as one as long as it's not disconnected from the internet.. (which is fine by me) now I tried as best as I could to set up like the microsoft site said the computers for an ad-hoc network.. and supposedly they are connecting.. but it's not connecting to the internet on the second computer.. why is that?.. the internet connection is working fine on the first computer.. |

Re: Wireless network seems to work but doesn't connect to the internet
What the microsoft website is referring to is the Internet Connection Sharing service. You must configure this properly, and allow the application to be open on the Windows Firewall. Basically what this does is allow your first computer (which is connected to the internet directly) to act as a router and pass along packets to the computer you are connecting to it. If you have configured this properly and your firewall allows this kind of transfer, you should be alright. The following links provide more information about this:
