Hi, guys! Here's my problem:
My dad recently used the AVG 8.0 anti-virus program guard to scan our PC for virus. When he cleaned out our PC of detected virus, we suddenly can't connect to the Internet anymore. LAN status is set to "Limited or No Connectivity" When I tried ipconfig /release & /renew, CMD responds by saying it "can't connect to your DHCP server" Here are the suggestions I've already tried, but didn't work: - ipconfig /release & /renew - Winsockfix.exe - reset the TCP/IP stack - reinstalled the LAN driver - physically take out the LAN card and reset the pc is there a way to save our PC without having to reformat? Thank you so much for the help! |

Re: Can't contact your DHCP server -- HELP
JOBO1016, I checked on my ipconfig and it says that my DHCP is enabled. Though I noticed that the DHCP is disabled under the Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface. Would that be the problem?
This is what came out when I typed in ipconfig /all: Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : mommydaddy Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : ADMtek AN983 based ethernet adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-08-A1-4A-20-F0 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . : 169.254.145.156 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : ?
