My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
I installed Windows XP on my laptop after I got the Blue Screen of Death on my laptop. However, after much searching I can't find my 802.11g Wireless in my Device Manager. Thus, I don't have wireless anymore.
What can I do? The 802.11g Wireless came with my laptop originally, so I do not have anything from which to reinstall it. |

Re: My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
You need to install the drivers for the wireless card . . you can find them on the manufacturers wegbsite. While you are there, download and install their Chipset driver first.
What Brand/Model is the laptop?

Re: My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
The model is an Averatec 3700 series.
After I got the Blue Screen of Death I accidentally reinstalled Windows Media on my laptop thinking it was Windows XP Home Edition. After that I installed Windows XP Pro |

Re: My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
You can find your drivers here
You will have to put in some additional details about your notebook. Reminder . . start with the chipset . . then others in any order

Re: My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
HI,
Go to this link: http://www.averatec.com/customercare/downloads.asp The link is a bit screwy. Input your series (3700), input your model (They list 2). Now the tricky part. Scroll down past the WLAN, Click underneath the WLAN (although nothing is there) and click on GO. This will give you the driver. Thier webpage is a little screwed up so I can not give you the direct link. Hope this helps, Bill

Re: My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
Thank you very much. It took me days of searching in order to figure out that my wireless adapter was gone and thus the reason why my wireless was not working, but that's as far as I got.
Unfortunately, the links to the drivers are not working right now, but I have already e-mailed the website admin and asked him/her to fix it. Again, thank you very much. - Blithe |

Re: My Wireless adapter is not in my Device Manager
Hmm,
I just tried them. As I stated above you have to scroll down below the WLAN and left click under the WLAN (You are clicking on nothing) not on the WLAN. You then click GO). It appears thier links are one step off of each other. Thanks, Bill
