Internet not working, important.
So my female friend's internet won't work effectively.
Sometimes, she'll get it running then it will just stop working. She restarts the modem, tries putting the cord into her laptop, restarts the router, the computer as well and it still won't turn on. I got her to scan the computer just in case of a virus or bug blocking the internet connection and it was clean. So I would really enjoy some advice. Please and thank you. I tried so many times to help her.. ![]() |

The way Vista is setup, IF the driver becomes corrupted due to: the firewall on the system (if third party firewall installed) will conflict with the Vista firewall and corrupt the driver. There could be a lose connection from the cable dropping the connection and this will corrupt the driver also. ***************************************** Uninstall the driver from the device manager, this should force you to reset up the network setting for (private or public). Ensure the cables or tight, replace if necessary. Being that it is a laptop I have seen where customers are unplugging the cable and this causes a forced crashed of the driver itself. Try disabling the network connection first and then unplugging the cable. One way to tell if it is software next time. When the issue occurs, try this: start > run> type "netsh int reset all" and reboot the system. Setup the network and if it fixes the issue then you have a software issue on the system and rebooting the modem or router will not resolve the issue.

Re: Internet not working, important.
See, I told her this but she claimed to already have done it. She called the internet provider and she said that they have had problems with their internet which is completely upset but it seems so unlikely for it to keep going on for over two weeks now, it's irksome.
