Workgroup Computer

I tried to do some file transfering and it didn't quite work, in the attempt I made a work group, now I can't get rid of it and I was told that any one can connect to my computer through this. How do I get rid of it? In "my network places" / "view workgroup computers" / there is the work group called "xxxx (none)".. (I didn't put none as the name only xxxx)

Inside the file it has other icons; Printer, SharedDocs, Printer and Faxes and scheduled tasks.

Any idea on how to get rid of this?

Thanks in advance

thats what windows does when you let it set up your network. since someone told you anyone can connect to your computer through it I assume you are running wireless? Then you would want to encrypt it or at least use MAC filtering. If it's hard wired for anyone to access it they would have to hook their computer to the network, and be in the same workgroup.

Hi,

My network isn't wireless. It's all running through a ethernet router. So am I safe from any attacks or anything because I'm planning to format in the next few days any way, so that should get rid of it amoung other things I need to get rid of
