Problems adding Windows ME laptop to existing wireless network
I am trying to add a laptop to my wireless network and can't get it to work. I have tried two USB adapters and have the same problem with each. I'm using DHCP and the laptop will obtain an IP address if I "release" and "renew" and I can see that the laptop connects in the status screen of my wireless access point's webpage (viewed from another computer), but I can't connect to the internet or even ping my default gateway (192.168.2.1). This laptop is running Win ME.
I don't understand how it can get and IP from the DHCP but can't ping the same device. Any ideas??? |

Do you have any firewall or other security software running on the laptop?
Also, please go to Start->Run, type in ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt and press enter. Open the text file (c:\ipconfig.txt), and post the results here.

OK, here's the ipconfig results. The only thing I see off the bat is that the hostname has a H[] after it. On the dos screen it shows up as a heart. I don't know what that is but it shouldn't keep me from pinging the DHCP server should it? Any ideas??
