Tor and similar softs
My ISP doesn't let me download from torrents, so I use Tor(http://www.torproject,org/) to convert my torrent requests to http requests. Things have been going pretty smooth for me, I always got around 12kb/s download speed(I have a 64kbps connection). But recently, Tor has been showing some errors(says it can't bind to some listening ports) and even though it's working alright(since I'm being able to connect to peers), my download speeds are not exceeding 7kb/s.
I'm thinking of re-installing Tor but just in case, I want to know if there are other softwares like Tor(these softs are called http pipelining softs right?) PS- the problem that I used to face when downloading from torrents is I could never connect to peers(even if the torrent had 1000 seeds). All I'm asking for is a soft, which will allow me to connect to peers and download with the maximum speed I can get. |
