Re: Help!!
I'm surprised that you never had this problem before you had to replace the hard drive. You need a router to share a connection between your computer and xbox.

Re: Help!!
I jus relised that you probably had ICS(Internet connection sharing) enabled on your desktop before the hard drive failure. This would give you what you want, but your desktop will have to be switched on for you to use the xbox online. (thats why your better off to get a router)
First switch on your desktop and modem so that it has the internet connected and NOT the xbox. Now follow the instructions on this link: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/..._ics/index.htm

Re: Help!!
I checked and thats not a router its a hub. A hub doesn't have the features to enable sharing of a connection between different devices. try following the instructions on the link I gave. I suspect you did have something like ICS setup before the hard drive failure as you are only having probs after this happened.

Re: Help!!
Unfortunatly, I don't have much exp in ICS. Can anyone out there give us a hand?
I do think your better of getting a router. They cost so little these days and would practically solve your problem straight out the box.

Re: Help!!
I'd go for the router, ICS is a very poor substitute. However, if you insist on using ICS...
Take a look at this Microsoft ICS (Internet Connection Sharing tutorial.
