Why do you want them static? The whole point in DHCP is to help prevent problems such as these and make it easier for the admin (that's you!)

If you're getting IP conflicts, there is a TCP/IP connected device using one of those addresses. Try something like SuperScan to see all the IP addresses in your network subnet that are in use.

FWIW, I agree with the previous post, use DHCP unless there's some specific reason for static addresses. If you use static IP addresses, make SURE you assign them outside the range of the DHCP server's address pool to avoid IP address collisions.

Re: ip conflict problem even tho all ip's are different

I like using static IPs just so I can run web servers, FTP servers, multiplayer game servers, etc...but anyways...

I don't know if this is what the problem is or not but...

I have experienced similar problems, when that cmoputer, or another on the network has ever had a static IP assigned (the same number trying to be used by another machine) to a network adapter that has been later removed without first changing or deleting the IP and uninstalling the device driver (using Windows 98 through XP). For some reason it still uses that IP somehow on the network.

You said it was a wireless connection, not wired. Does the computer motherboard come with a RJ45 network port? Could check what the IP settings are for that device.

This would be my first guess if no other computers on the network have the same IP conflict, or IP.

Can see what device manager looks like. If there are more network adapters listed than are physically attached, try removing it from the list, and restart system.

On my network though, I just have my router set as the DCHP server, and I just have a couple computers on static IPs.

Hope the information was usefull, if that's what the problem was.
