Major net issues
Hi,
A couple of days ago my computer's internet speed (I'm on highish speed DSL broadband) became unbearably slow; I'm getting download speeds of less than 1mbs (normally over 100 or 200) and it takes a year to load even the simplest of pages. I'm on a wireless network and at first I thought the issue may be that i got a "could not clear DNS cache" error when refreshing the connection, however I manually flushed it using the ipconfig /flushdns command and the error hasn't reappeared. I also thought it could just be an ISP issue or something wrong with the router, but I checked another computer in the house and that still has lightning fast internet speed. Help! PS - I have rebooted my router several times and this does not seem to help. |

Re: Major net issues
For starters, I would clear all temp files including C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Local Settings\Temp (this is a hidden file by default). then run an up-to-date virus and malware scanner. My guess is you did this.

Re: Major net issues
Sounds like you may have spyware/malware, I think I'd have to check that first.
