Workgroup/Networking Laptop Vista to Desktop XP Pro
I am trying to network/workgroup my Windows XP Pro desktop (LAN) with my Windows Vista Home Premium edition (wireless). I can get the desktop to see the laptop, but not the reverse. I have tried changing user ids, etc to no avail. The error tells me that the desktop can be pinged but won't respond. I tried to disable my XP's firewall, but when I click on the firewall it says due to an unknown error, it cannot access the firewall. I would really like to be able to access the desktop, it's programs, and the printer from my laptop.
