Mistake DNS Issue??

Hello.

I need some assistance with my internet. Lately, my internet has been snapping on and off, seemingly at random. One hour, it works normally. The next, it stops working entirely. Here's the thing: I can still connect to my network just fine, according to the Windows Wireless Manager. My network is still accessible. and it says it is connected, but I cannot load anything (webpages, IM services, etc.)

MSN Messenger is one of the programs I used. It has a built in "connectivity manager" to check for connection issues. Now, my disclaimer: I know nothing about this networking technology, but I am good at following detailed instructions, so if anyone has a response to my issues, please let me know (I am coming here first to avoid dealing with those annoying people on the customer service lines).

Anyway, back on topic. The connectivity manager told me that the "DNS was unable to resolve IP address", and also popped up with an error for key ports. These are terms I have heard thrown around, but I don't know what they mean exactly. Here is a screenshot similar to the one I get when I run this test that I found on another forum from another poster.

Anyway, I did a google search and learned about some potential causes, but no details on solutions (most of the other people with this problem had more knowledge about their stuff than I do, so solutions were easier).

So - here's the deal. I'll be on this other computer for a while checking for replies. I am a 2 minute drive from the network in question. I am willing to drive back and forth to perform any tests you may need to help diagnose, and hopefully fix my problem (of course, the internet might start working again randomly as it has before).

Hope to hear back. Thanks. Remember, I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff, so be as patronizing as you can, just in case I don't know what you're talking about, even if it's simple.

Thanks again.
