Dead internet fixed by restart?
Occasionally (at seemingly random intervals) my Laptop's WIFI internet just abruptly dies, and the only way to connect to the internet is to completely shut down and restart the laptop...
It happens more sometimes than others, for instance, yesterday it only happened twice, but today it's happened 3 times within the past hour. I'm sorry that I can't word this any better, or give any other hints, because It seems shockingly out of the blue.. Does anybody have any ideas? If so, thanks so much! Re: Dead internet fixed by restart?
Could be that your laptop is running in to a conflict with someones cordless home phone. If you're using a 2.4Ghz phone in your house (aka flat) then perhaps you're talking on your phone when the connection dies. Could also be a neighbor (or neighbour) with a 2.4Ghz phone also. I'd also be inclined to check the power settings of the wireless card to see if it is allowing the computer to turn it off to save power.

Re: Dead internet fixed by restart?
It likely isn't because It's only started happening recently and we've had a cordless phone for a good while..
Unless somone nearby has began using one without me knowing.. Power settings are not the problem either. I'll get back if it happens again, it's been good (speak too soon...?) for a while now. |
