Re: Need help setting up a wire and wireless network at my home
rhino_unit,
First of all - what type of Broadband are you using - Cable or DSL? Who is your Internet provider? What is the make/model of your broadband modem? What is the make/model of your new wireless router? If you had DSL, did you have any special Enternet 300 or other "dialer" software on your PC to connect to the Internet while your PC was attached to the modem? If so, let me know what software? If you have Cable Internet, was your PC plugged directly into your cable modem? Basically - we need to figure out what kind of service you have and configure your router to connect to the Internet - then connect your wired/wireless PCs to that router. MODEM (CABLE or DSL) --> ROUTER (WAN PORT) ---> PCs (wired/wireless). Reply with the details and we should be able to help you. - John |

Ok I don't know If it is DSL or cable cause I don't use a telephone line as DSL does and neither an Internet Cable. My modem receives the internet signal wireless the brand is Axess Tel model: AXW-D1900 and my internet provider is Centennial Instant Internet ( my modem is plug and play ).. The new roter is a D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N.. The thing is that I don't know if my connection is like DSL or Cable.. But I don't need any program to get connected I just Turn on the modem and thats it ... And yes right now my computer is connected directly to the modem. |

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following commands: PING 216.109.112.135 PING yahoo.com NBTSTAT -n IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Re: Need help setting up a wire and wireless network at my home
Hi,
My modem receives the internet signal wireless the brand is Axess Tel model: AXW-D1900 and my internet provider is Centennial Instant Internet and I am having problems setting up my wireless router. I can connect to the internet but once I have been connected for approximately 30 minutes it gets disconnected. Can someone give me an idea of what I can do? BTW my router is a Trend Net TEW 632BRP. Thanks, anniejca2002@yahoo.com
