[SOLVED] Computer won't recognize wireless connection

I have a Zyxel wireless receiver hooked up to my computer downstairs, while I have a siemens router/modem hooked up to my computer upstairs. A fifty foot ethernet cord hooks the router upstairs with the computer downstairs but when I hook the ethernet up directly it isn't recognized as a connection on my comp. I tried just hooking it up to a wireless router downstairs through the ethernet cord to see if the wireless was recognized either... and nothing is working :(

I can't figure out what you're really trying to do here, can you lay out the details and exactly how everything is connected?

I actually figured it out its a problem with my network card. Thanks though and sorry I wasn't specific enough.
