windows xp and mac os networking?
Didnt know whether to put this in windows or mac.. hope this is fine.. Anyways I am going to move into a house that has a basement.. I am gonna put my windows desktop down in the basement. I am gonna have my macbook pro in my room up stairs.. I have alot of music and dvds i ripped onto external hard drives.. They are going to be hooked up to the desktop in the basement. Though while I am upstairs I want to be able to listen to music and watch dvds and stuff sometimes on the macbook through the wireless connection. (d-link wireless router if important) But I want to keep all my music and movies on those externals as like a central hub for all my media and just pull a file off of that. Is something like this possible? If so, can you guys explain how I would do the simple networking and set up I would have to do?. Thanks for any help and sorry if I left out any information.. Just ask and I will post any needed information.
