Vista, XP, DI-604 router and Speedstream 4200 modem
Hi. I've never used this site before, and I hope that one kind soul out there can offer some advice!
Here's my background and problem: I have a 3 node network connected with a DI-604 router made by D-Link. One PC is running Vista, and the other two are using XP. I was recently able to get highspeed internet (welcome to rural Nova Scotia!) and once I got the speedstream 4200 connected to the DI-604, I found that both XP machines were successfully connected to the internet, but the vista machince will not connect. I've tried logging off of the router and logging back in, restarting the PC, reseting the router. I have not tried updating to the latest firmware, I'm a little scared that I'll lose all the information/work that I've already done. Will updating the firmware help? Any advice is greatly accepted. Thanks Kent |
