OS: XP Pro sp2


Cant Connect

Hi me my dad and my sister all connect to my dads netgear router, me and my sister can connect via wireless and wire and use the internet fine, but when my dad tries to connect via wireless or wire it wont let him, it either says he is connected but does not let him view any webpages i went into command prompt and he cant even ping the router or any website, it also sometimes comes up with limited but no connectivity, please help i also did a factory restore on the router but still doesnt work, i need to fix this asap so if u could help me by tonight it would be greatly apprectiated.

I'll assume XP-SP2 in the absence of any real information.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINS defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.
